Tim McGraw Opens Up About Why He's Been 'More Emotional' Lately

Tim McGraw's emotional side has come out more this year than ever before.

In a recent interview with his record label, the country star opened up about what he's learned about himself over the last few months of quarantine, revealing his emotions seem stronger than ever. When asked if he's had time of self-reflection throughout quarantine, McGraw replied, "Gosh, I don't know. At 53 I probably don't self-examine as much as I should, but I think I'm learning that I'm getting more and more emotional, I think. I'm getting more and more emotional about everything."

He continued on to add that he thinks this more sensitive side of him has been growing the older he gets. "Maybe I've been headin' that direction for a while," he said, adding, "but maybe this time has really sped that process up. I mean, I can cry at commercials now. It's ridiculous."

McGraw is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated new album, Here On Earth, which is due out on August 21. The project is his first album with Big Machine Records since returning to the label earlier this year. The country star has already released the lead single, "I Called Mama" along with the album's title track, "Here On Earth" and "Hallelujahville."

A press release shares that Here on Earth "provides a musical tapestry of life and a shared experience that we can use to connect all the different lives that we live, all the different parts of the world that we come from and use music as the universal language to bring people together."
